Interlocking Function
Ni-E has a useful function that provides various optical adjustments and settings by interlocking with switching of
objectives or zoom operation. You can save time and efforts required for optical adjustments and settings that are needed
when changing microscopy conditions.
For interlocking settings, see “23 Operation on DS-L3” - “23.1 Setting Up the Microscope - (4) Configuring the Movement”
or Chapter 6 “5 Configuring the Movement of Motorized Units ([MOVEMENT] Screen)” in the “Microscope Operation”
manual bundled with DS-L3.
Interlocking with Switching of Objectives
■ Items set for each objective
Setting items Interlocking Conditions for interlocked operation
ESCAPE
(Retraction of the elevating
section)
*1
ON
OFF (factory setting)
Requires to connect a motorized nosepiece.
A. STOP
(Size of aperture diaphragm)
75%
INTELLIGENT
*2
OPEN
CLOSE
OFF (factory setting)
Requires to connect a motorized/intelligent
nosepiece (that requires defined objective
information), motorized quadrocular tilting
tube, and a motorized universal condenser.
F. STOP
(Size of field diaphragm)
100% (same as the size of the field of
view)
INTELLIGENT
*2
OPEN
CLOSE
OFF (factory setting)
Requires to connect a motorized/intelligent
nosepiece (that requires defined objective
information), motorized quadrocular tilting
tube, and a motorized universal condenser.
ND
(ND value of ND filter)
NORMAL (that retains a consistent
change of the brightness of the field of
view generated when switching
objectives)
INTELLIGENT
*2
OFF (factory setting)
Requires to connect a motorized/intelligent
nosepiece (that requires defined objective
information), motorized quadrocular tilting
tube, motorized ND filter wheel, and a
motorized universal condenser, and the
aperture diaphragm should be open 75%.
(If [Intelligent], [OPEN], or [CLOSE] is set for
the aperture diaphragm, the transmittance of
ND filters to be adjusted may not be
optimized. In that case, allocate an ND value
adjustment function to the CW/CCW button
of the ergo controller for adjustments.)
CONDEN.
(Optical module that should be
brought into the optical path)
Select from condenser modules that
are set in [COMPONENTS] in
[MICROSCOPE SETUP].
OFF (factory setting)
Requires to connect a motorized/intelligent
nosepiece (that requires defined objective
information), motorized quadrocular tilting
tube, and a motorized universal condenser.
*1: Retraction of the elevating section
The stage automatically lowers to the retraction position and objectives are switched, if indicated so, then restores to the
previous height after a completion of the switching. The retraction position is lowered from the reference position for the
amount specified in “23.1 Setting Up the Microscope - (4-2) Escape Distance”.
It is effective when switching of the magnification is not possible unless the stage is lowered when the slide or cover glass
is thick.
*2: INTELLIGENT
Settings adjusted using the [A. STOP], [F. STOP], and [ND] intelligent adjustment parameters provided for each objective.
This reproduces the adjustment used during the observation when the objective is returned to its original position. Also, if
the optical path switching or zoom magnification is changed when the objective is returned, correct with adjustment
parameters to obtain the same view.
