Calculating a point-line intersection
1.
Press [4] or select Pt-Line in the Intersection menu.
2. Enter the first point name and press [ENT], or
press the
MSR softkey to measure directly to
the point.
3. Enter the azimuth, or press the Pts softkey to
enter another point name on the line.
4. Enter the perpendicular point to the line, or
press the
MSR softkey to take a measurement
to the point.
5. To calculate the coordinates of the intersection
point, press
[ENT].
If P1 and P2 are 3D points, the Z coordinate of
the perpendicular point is calculated relative to
the P1-P2 slope.
6. Enter PT and CD then press [ENT] to record the
point.
