1Generallocationrequirements
Importantconsiderationswhenchoosingasuitablelocationforyourproduct.
Thisproductissuitableformountingbelowdecks.
Theproductshouldbemountedwhereitwillbe:
•protectedfromphysicaldamageandexcessivevibration.
•wellventilatedandawayfromheatsources.
Whenchoosingalocationfortheproduct,considerthefollowingpointsto
ensurereliableandtrouble-freeoperation:
•Access—theremustbesufficientspacetoenablecableconnectionsto
theproduct,avoidingtightbendsinthecable.
•Diagnostics—theproductmustbemountedinalocationwherethe
diagnosticsLEDiseasilyvisible.

•Electricalinterference—theproductshouldbemountedfarenough
awayfromanyequipmentthatmaycauseinterferencesuchasmotors,
generatorsandradiotransmitters/receivers.
•Magneticcompass—refertotheCompasssafedistancesectioninthis
documentforadviceonmaintainingasuitabledistancebetweenthis
productandanycompassesonyourvessel.
•P
ower—tokeepcablerunstoaminimum,theproductmustbelocatedas
closeaspossibletothevessel’sdcpowersupply.
•Mountingsurface—ensuretheproductisadequatelysupportedona
securesurface.RefertotheweightinformationprovidedintheTechnical
specificationforthisproductandensurethattheintendedmounting
surfaceissuitableforbearingtheproductweight.DoNOTmountunitsor
cutholesinplaceswhichmaydamagethestructureofthevessel.
Augmentedreality
IfyourproductisbeingusedforAugmentedRealityitisimportanttoconsider
itspositionanddirectionalviewforoperation.
Inadditiontothe6.1Generallocationrequirements,pleaseconsiderthe
followingrecommendationstoensurereliableandtroublefreeoperation:
•Direction—theproductshouldbepointingtowardsthevessel’sbowand
mustbeinparallelalignmentwiththelongitudinalaxis(centerline)ofthe
vessel.
•Tiltangle—theproductshouldbetiltedsothewaterandhorizonare
clearlyvisibleatalltimes.
