Connectingcables
Followthestepsbelowtoconnectthecable(s)toyourproduct.
1.Ensurethatthevessel'
spowersupplyisswitchedoff.
2.Ensurethatthedevicebeingconnectedhasbeeninstalledinaccordance
withtheinstallationinstructionssuppliedwiththatdevice.
3.Ensuringcorrectorientation,pushcableconnectorsfullyontothe
correspondingconnectors.
4.Engageanylockingmechanismtoensureasecureconnection(e.g.:turn
lockingcollarsclockwiseuntiltight,orinthelockedposition).
5.Ensureanybareendedwireconnectionsaresuitablyinsulatedtoprevent
shortingandcorrosionduetowateringress.
8.3Poweroptions
ThisproductmustbepoweredusingONEofthefollowingmethods:
1.PoE(PoweroverEthernet).Either:
•DirectconnectiontoaRaymarinegSSeriesorAxiomXLMFD(only
onecableisrequiredtocarrybothdataandpowersignals);or:
•Connectiontoasuitably-poweredRaymarineorFLIRPoEinjector.
Onlyonecableisrequiredtocarrybothdataandpowersignals
betweenthecameraandthePoEinjector.However,thePoEitselfwill
requireitsownpowersource,andaseparateethernetdatacabletoa
laptop,RaymarineMFD,orRaymarinenetworkswitch.
Thismethodisusefulifthecameraislocatedalongdistancefroma
powersource;youwillonlyneedasingleethernetdatacabletothe
cameraitself,andthePoEinjectorcanbelocatedclosetothepower
source.
2.Self-powered.Directconnectiontoavessel'spowersupplyusingthe
suppliedpowercable.Withthismethod,aseparateethernetdatacable
isrequiredtoalaptop,RaymarineMFD,orRaymarinenetworkswitch.

8.4Powerconnection-PoE
ConnectionviaPoE-capableMFD
ThecameraisaClass2PoEdevice.Whenthecameraisconnecteddirectly
toagSSeriesorAxiomXLmultifunctiondisplay(MFD),theunitcanbe
poweredfromthedisplay’snetworkconnection.
NEVERconnectthecamera’spowersupplyconnectionwhentheunitis
beingsuppliedPoE.
