AT estCallfeatureisavailableforthepurposesoftestingyourDSCVHFradioforcorrectoperation.
Thereare2typesoftestcall:
•TestcalltotheUSCoastGuardautomatedresponsetestcallservice(MMSI:003669999).This
typeoftestcallwillreceiveanautomatedresponse(acknowledgement).
•Testcalltoanothervesselthathasaradiothatsupportsthetestcallfeature.Y ourradiowill
automaticallyacknowledgetestcallsreceivedfromotherradios.
ForradiosthatdoNOTsupportthetestcallfeature,correctradiooperationcanbetestedbymaking
anIndividualcallonchannel70toanotherDSCVHFradio.
Itisrecommendedthatonceyou'vesuccessfullyplacedatestcallyouaddthetestcallMMSItoyour
radio'sPhonebookforeasyretrievalforfuturetestcalls.ForinformationonhowtoaddanMMSI
toyourradio'sPhonebook.

anautomatedresponse.

Fromthe
Testcallmenu:Menu>DSCCalls>Testcall.
1.Select
PhonebooktomakeatestcalltoacontactsavedinyourPhonebook,or
2.Select
RecentCallstomakeatestcalltoacontactthatyouhavecalledrecently,or
3.Select
EnterMMSItomanuallyentertheMMSInumberofthestationyouwanttosendatestcall.
4.SelectacontactorenteranMMSImanuallyandpressthe
OKbutton.
Thetestcallissent.
5.IfyoucalledtheUSCoastGuardautomatedresponsetestcallMMSI(003669999),waitforan
acknowledgement.Ifyoumadeatestcalltoanothervesselwithatestcallcapableradio,your
radiowillwaitforaresponse.
Whenanacknowledgementisreceived,anaudiblealarmissoundedandthemessage(envelope)
iconisdisplayed.
