3.11. Emptying the Waste Ink Bottle
• If the waste ink bottle is full, auto maintenance will not occur, and head clogging may occur.
• Do not press [WASTE INK RESET] to reset the waste ink bottle warning without emptying the
waste ink tank. This will avoid any spilling or other potential hazards.
When disposing the waste ink, clean the waste ink tube if there is dirt such as lumps of ink on the tip of
the tube. Otherwise, clogging the waste ink tube and defective discharging of waste ink could result.
Once a certain amount of ink is used, the following message is displayed on the touch panel.
• Put the waste ink form the waste ink bottle into a container to discharge it.
• You can check the amount of waste ink on the Status screen and reset the waste ink bottle.
• To reset the waste ink bottle, press [WASTE INK RESET] after the waste ink bottle is emptied.
