6 Essential Tips for Keeping Your RICOH Ri 2000 in Top Shape
As part of our commitment to your success, we want to make sure that you are getting optimal
performance from your RICOH Ri 2000 while also minimizing any issues that can easily be prevented by
following a few simple tips:
1. Always leave your printer on to allow the machine’s automated maintenance
sequences to run.
This is necessary to keep the printer in optimal condition and avoid potential damage that
can be easily prevented.
If the printer needs to be turned off for more than 12 hours, be sure to install the head
protection cover on the white carriage.
If the power needs to be turned off for more than 2 weeks, install a cleaning cartridge to
replace the white ink inside the printer with cleaning solution, and then install the head
protection cover on the white carriage. If the power needs to be turned off for more than 3
months, install the cleaning cartridge and replace the color ink inside the printer with
cleaning solution as well.
For instructions on how to replace the cleaning solution, see page 190, "Preparing Your
Printer for Storage/Shipping". and for instructions on how to install the head protection
cover, see "Installation of the head protection cover" on page 213.
2. Always shake new white ink cartridges thoroughly before installing them in your
printer.
Adequately shaking your new white ink cartridges can ensure that your prints will come out
bright and vibrant. For details, see page 23, "Machine Installation". Also, shake the white
ink cartridges each day as prompted by the printer.
