7.4 Monitoring Functions
7.4.1 Overview
Function
The following individual functions are implemented:
• Temperature monitoring and excess/insufficient temperature indication
• Watchdog
• Fan monitoring
Notice
The software “SystemGuard” and “DeskView” may not be installed at the same
time. Since they both access the same interface, a parallel installation or operation
may cause errors.
You will find the description of the drives and the SystemGuard on the CD supplied
“Rack PC IL 40 S Documentation and Drivers” in “wp_systemguard_en.pdf”.
7.4.2 Temperature Monitoring/Indication
Temperature Monitoring
Temperature errors do not occur during the normal approved use of the device. If a
temperature error occurs, check the following possible causes:
• Are the ventilation slots blocked?
• Is the filter heavily soiled?
• Is the fan working?
• Is the ambient temperature higher than the allowed value?
• Has the total capacity for the power supply been exceeded?
The temperature error remains saved until the temperatures have fallen below the
thresholds and are reset by one of the following measures:
• Acknowledge the error message via the SOM program
• Restarting the device.
