46 Making calls in MPT mode
Inter-fleet calls
The MPT trunk network uses a four-digit ANN dialing
scheme for inter-fleet calls, consisting of the one-digit
fleet number and the 3-digit unit number.
To dial an inter-fleet call:
1 Dial the fleet number (e.g. 1 for Port Philip Bay)
then the unit number.
2 Press Send or press the PTT key.
The call details appear on the screen.
3 Press Cancel to end the call.
Inter-agency calls
The MPT network uses the 7-digit ANN dialing
scheme for inter-agency calls, consisting of the three-
digit agency number, the one-digit area code and the
3-digit unit number.
To dial an inter-agency call:
1 Dial the agency number (e.g. 733 for SAU), then
the area code (e.g. 5) and then the unit number.
2 Press Send or press the PTT key.
The call details appear on the screen.
3 Press Cancel to end the call.
