Making an emergency call in
MPT mode or on a P25 trunk
channel
Warning You will not be able to make a voice call
until the emergency initiation sequence has been
completed.
To initiate an emergency call:
1 Press and hold the emergency key.
The radio beeps and Release key for emergency
appears on the display.
2 Release the emergency key.
The radio will now dial an emergency call.
Cancelling an accidental press
of the emergency key
A short press of the emergency key will not initiate an
emergency call.
If you have pressed and are holding the emergency
key accidentally:
■ Continue to hold the emergency key until you:
■ first hear another beep (to initiate a duress call)
■ then hear a boop
Emergency cancelled appears on the screen:
Your radio now returns to the channel that it was
operating on prior to the emergency call.
