Semiconductors
To
remove
in
-
line
integrated
circuits
use
an
extracting
tool
.
This
tool
is
available
from
Tektronix
,
Inc
.;
refer
to
the
Replaceable
Mechanical
Parts
list
for
ordering
information
.
If
an
extracting
tool
is
not
available
,
use
care
to
avoid
dam
aging
the
pins
.
Pull
slowly
and
evenly
on
both
ends
of
the
integrated
circuit
.
Try
to
avoid
disengaging
one
end
before
the
other
end
.
Silicone
grease
must
be
used
on
the
transistors
attached
to
the
heat
sink
on
the
Output
Amplifier
board
and
the
three
teminal
regulator
and
the
heat
sink
on
the
Sine
Shaper
board
.
When
replacing
any
of
the
eight
transistors
in
individ
ual
heat
sinks
on
the
output
board
make
certain
sufficient
silicone
grease
is
inside
the
cup
to
contact
the
top
and
sides
of
the
transistor
.
If
the
individual
transistor
heat
sinks
are
removed
from
the
large
heat
sink
,
put
a
layer
of
silicone
grease
between
the
two
heat
sinks
.
The
three
transistors
mounted
directly
to
the
large
heat
sink
all
have
insulating
washers
and
nonconducting
screws
attaching
them
to
the
large
heat
sink
.
If
these
transistors
are
removed
,
coat
both
sides
of
the
insulating
washer
with
sili
cone
grease
.
There
is
no
insulating
washer
on
the
three
teminal
regulator
on
the
Sine
Shaper
board
.
WARNING
Handle
silicone
grease
with
care
.
Avoid
getting
the
silicone
grease
in
your
eyes
.
Wash
hands
thoroughly
after
use
.
Interconnecting
Pins
Several
methods
of
interconnection
,
including
square
pin
and
coaxial
cable
,
are
used
to
electrically
connect
the
circuit
boards
with
other
boards
and
components
.

Pin
Assemblies

.
The
pins
are
of
various
lengths
.
They
are
attached
to
each
other
with
a
plastic
strip
.
To
remove
them
,
simply
unsolder
from
the
circuit
board
.
Multipin
Connectors
The
pin
connectors
used
to
connect
the
wires
to
the
interconnecting
pins
are
clamped
to
the
ends
of
the
wires
.
To
replace
damaged
multipin
connectors
,
remove
the
old
pin
connector
from
the
holder
.
Do
this
by
inserting
a
scribe
between
the
connector
and
the
holder
and
prying
the
con
nector
from
the
holder
.
Clamp
the
replacement
connector
to
the
wire
.
Reinstall
the
conector
in
the
holder
.

order

wires

correct
replacement
in
the
holder
