(+)batterypostandthenegative(black)cable
tothenegative(–)batterypostusingthebolts
andnuts.
3.Slidetheinsulatorbootoverthepositivebattery
post.
4.Installthebatterycoverandsecureitwiththe
strapthatyouremovedpreviously(Figure83).

inplacetoprotectandsecurethebattery.
ChargingtheBattery
Important:Alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged.
Thisisespeciallyimportanttopreventbattery
damagewhenthetemperatureisbelow32°F(0°C).
1.Removethebatteryfromthechassis;referto
RemovingtheBattery(page63).
2.Connecta3to4Abatterychargertothebattery
postsandchargethebatteryatarateof3to4A
for4to8hours(12V).

3.Installthebatteryinthechassis;referto
InstallingtheBattery(page64).
StoringtheBattery
Ifyouarestoringthemachineformorethan30days,
removethebatteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstore
itonashelforonthemachine.Disconnectthe
batterycablesifthebatteryisstoredonthemachine.
Storethebatteryinacoolatmospheretoavoid
quickdeteriorationofthechargeinthebattery.T o
preventthebatteryfromfreezing,ensurethatitisfully
charged.
