NOTICE
Do not use engine ant ifreez e or any
other substitute because it may dam-
age your vehicle’s paint.
Do not use your par king brake when
there is a possibility it could freeze.
When par king, put t he t ransmis sion into
“P” (aut omatic ) or into fi rst or rev erse
(manual) and block the front wheels. Do
not use the par king brak e, or s now or
water accumul ated in and around the
parki ng br ake mechanis m may freez e,
making it har d to release.
Keep ice and snow from accumulat ing
under the fenders.
Ice and snow built up under your fenders
can m ake s teeri ng diff icult . During bad
winter driving, stop and chec k under the
fenders oc cas ionally.
Depending on where you ar e drivi ng,
we recommend you carry some emer-
gency equipment.
Some of t he things y ou might put in the
vehic le are ti re chains , window scr aper,
bag of s and or salt, flar es, small shovel,
jumper cables , etc.
Your vehic le is designed prim arily as a
passenger −and−l oad−car ryi ngvehi cle. Tow-
ing a trailer will have an adverse effect on
handling, per formanc e, braking, durability
and driv ing economy (fuel c onsumpti on,
etc. ). Your s afety and s atis facti on depend
on t he proper use of corr ect equipment
and caut ious dri ving habits. For your s afe-
ty and the s afety of others, you must not
overl oad your vehicl e or tr ailer. Ask y our
local Toyot a dealer f or fur ther det ails be-
fore towing, as ther e are addit ional legal
requir ements in some countr ies.
For towing pur poses, when the tot al trai ler
weight is gr eater than the vehic le wei ght,
we recommend us e of a sway control de-
vice.

WEIGHT LIMITS
Before towi ng, make sure t he t otal trai l-
er weight, gross vehicl e weight, gross
axle wei ght and trailer tongue load are
all within the limits.

found at a public weighbr idge, building
supply c ompany, truc king company, junk
yard, etc.
