If a child is too large for a child restraint
system, the child should s it in the rear
seat and must be r estr ained us ing the

D For effect ive protect ion i n automo-
bile accidents and sudden stops, a
child must be proper ly rest rained,
using a seat bel t or chil d restr aint
system depending on the age and
size of t he child. Holdi ng a chil d in
your arms is not a substit ute for a
child restrai nt syst em. I n an acci-
dent, t he child can be cr ushed
against t he windshield, or between
you and the vehicle’s interior.
D Toyota strongl y urges use of a
proper chil d restrai nt system which
conforms to the siz e of the child,
instal led on t he rear seat. Accord-
ing to accident statisti cs, the child
is saf er when pr operly restrai ned in
the r ear seat than in t he f ront seat .

exist i n the country wher e you re-
side, please contact your Toyot a
dealer for the inst allati on of the
child rest raint system.
D Make sure you have compli ed with
all inst allati on instr uctions provi ded
by the chil d restr aint manufact urer
and that t he syst em is pr operly se-
cured. If it is not secured properl y,
it may cause death or serious i njury
to the child in the event of a sud-
den stop, sudden swer ve or acci-
dent.
