12. Check the ai r pressure of the re-
placed tir e.
Adjust the air pressure to the specification
designat ed i n Section 8. If the press ure is
lower, drive sl owly to the nearest serv ice
stat ion and fill to the cor rect pr essur e.

valv e c ap as dirt and mois ture could get
into the val ve cor e and possi bly c ause air
leakage. If t he cap is miss ing, have a new
one put on as s oon as possi ble.
13. Restow all the t ools, j ack and fl at
tir e securely.
As soon as pos sible aft er c hanging
wheels, t ighten the wheel nuts to the
torque s pecif ied in Sec tion 8 wi th a tor que
wrench and hav e a tec hnician r epair t he
flat tire.
This is the same procedure for changing
or rotat ing your tir es.
CAUTION
Before drivi ng, make sur e all the
tools, jack and flat ti re ar e securely
in place in their storage locatio n t o
reduce the possibility of death or se-
rious injur y dur ing sudden braking,
sudden swerving or a collision.
If your vehicle becomes st uck in snow,
mud, sand, etc., then you may att empt
to r ock the vehicle free by moving it
forwar d and backward.
CAUTION
Do not at tempt to r ock t he vehi cle
free by movi ng it for ward and back-
ward i f people or obj ects ar e any-
where near t he vehicle. During the
rocking oper ation the vehicle may
suddenly move forward or backward
as it becomes unst uck, causi ng injur y
or damage to nearby people or ob-
jects.
NOTICE
If you r ock your vehicle, observe the
followi ng precautions t o prevent dam-
age to the tr ansmission and oth er
parts.
z Do not depress t he acceler ator ped-
al while shift ing the shift lever or
before the transmi ssion is com-
pletel y shif ted t o for ward or r everse
gear.
z Do not race t he engine and avoid
spinning the wheels.
z If your vehicle remains stuck after
rocking the vehi cle several ti mes,
consider ot her ways such as tow-
ing.
