rect f uel.
The DPF (Diesel Particulat e Fi lter) sys-
tem is desi gned to reduce the part icu-
late matt er i n di esel engi ne exhaust
gases by absorbi ng the part iculat e mat-
ter in t he catal ytic convert er (oxidat ion
catalyst ). The system per forms automat-
ic regeneration to burn off the particu-
late matter absorbed in the catal ytic
converter. To allo w t he system to per-
form aut omatic regener ation, shi ft the
transmi ssion i nto “P” ( automatic) or
neutral (manual) when the vehicle is
parked with the engine running.
DPF system indi cator light
If particulate matter builds up in the cata-
lyt ic conv erter, the indicator l ights on the
inst rument cl uster and the manual regen-
erati on swi tch on the i nstr ument panel will
flas h when t he engine s witc h is turned on.
The indicat or lights w ill go off withi n 10
seconds if automati c regener ation is suffi-
cient . If the indic ator l ights keep flas hing
for more than 10 sec onds, the system
requir es manual regenerat ion.
If you do not perform manual regener ation
and c ontinue dri ving wit h the indic ator
light fl ashing, a buzz er will s ound.
