CAUTION

not allow any occupants to sit on
top of a folded−down seatback, or
in the l uggage compartment or car-
go area. If the o ccupants are im-
properl y seat ed or restr ainted by
seat belts, death or serious i njury
could result in the event of emer-
gency braki ng, sudden swerving or
an accident.
D Duri ng dr iving, do not allow any
passengers to st and up or move
around bet ween seats. Otherwise,
death or ser ious inju ries can occur
in the event of emergency braking,
sudden swerving or an accident.
Adjust t he driver’s seat s o that the foot
pedals, steer ing wheel and instr ument
panel c ontrol s are wi thin eas y r each of
the driver.

D Do not adj ust the seat while the
vehicle is moving as t he seat may
unexpectedly move and cause the
driver to lose contr ol of the vehicl e.
D Aft er adjusting the seat position, r e-
lease t he lever and tr y sl iding the
seat forw ard and backwar d to make
sure it is locked in positi on.
D Make sure t he seatback i s securely
locked by pushi ng for ward and rear-
ward on t he t op of the seatback.
Failur e to do so wil l prevent t he
seat belt from operati ng properl y.
D Do not put obj ects under the seats
except for put ting them in the auxil-
iary box. Ot herwise, t he obj ects
may int erfere with t he seat−lock
mechanism or unexpectedly push
up the seat position adj usting lever
and the seat may suddenly move,
causing t he dr iver to lose control of
the vehicle.
D Whi le adjust ing the seat , do not put
your hands under t he seat or near
the moving parts. O therwise, your
hands or finger s may be caught and
injured.
