Look at the see−th rough coolant reser-
voir when t he engine i s cold. The cool-
ant level is satisf actory if i t is between
the “ FULL” and “LOW” lines on the
reservoi r. If the level i s low, add t he
coolant. ( For the coolant t ype, see
“Coolant type selecti on” descri bed be-
low.)
The c oolant level in the reser voir w ill vary
with engine t emperatur e. However, if the
level is on or below the “LOW ” l ine, add
coolant . Bri ng the lev el up t o the “ FULL”
line.
If t he coolant level drops wi thin a shor t
time af ter replenis hing, there may be a
leak in the system. Visually check the
radiat or, hoses, radi ator cap and drain
cock and water pump.
If you c an f ind no leak , hav e your Toyota
dealer test t he c ap pressur e and chec k
for leaks in the cooling system.
CAUTION
To pr event burning your self, do not
remove the radiat or cap when t he en-
gine is hot.

based non−silicate, non−amine, non−nitri te,
and non−bor ate c oolant with long−life

phosphates and or ganic acids .)
“Toy ota Super Long Life Cool ant” is a mi x-
ture of 50% coolant and 50% deionized
water. Thi s c oolant pr ovides protec tion
down to about −35_C(−31_F).
