Problem Solving
This chapter provides possible solutions to various problems you may encounter with the device.
Troubleshooting
This section describes troubles that may occur with the device and their solutions.
Follow the troubleshooting procedure below to solve the problems.
1. There is a problem with the device operation
–Yes: Refer to

– No: A message is displayed.
2. Message displays a paper or document jam?
– Yes: For information on paper jams, refer to
Paper Jams on page 287. For information on
document jams, refer to
Document Jams on page 292.
If the message displays an error code, refer to
Error Code on page 277.
– No: The image quality is poor.
3. Is the image quality poor?
–Yes: Refer to

– No: There is a problem when using the Copy, Print, Fax, Scan, or Scan Driver or Printer Utility
features.
