Chapter 3 Installing
Installing and Removing the Interface Module
Step 6 Connect all the cables to each interface module.
Caution Do not use interface module or power supply ejector handles to lift the chassis; using these handles to
lift the chassis can deform or damage the handles.
Removing the Interface Module
Note Before removing the interface module, read the Activating or Deactivating Interface Module section
in the Cisco ASR 920 Series Aggregation Services Router Configuration Guide.
Step 1 To remove an interface module, disconnect all the cables from each interface module.
Step 2 Loosen the locking thumbscrews on both sides of the interface module.
Step 3 Slide the interface module out of the router slot by pulling on the handles.
If you are removing a blank filler plate, pull the blank filler plate completely out of the router slot using
the captive screws.
Note If the interface module slot is to remain empty, install a blank filler plate (Cisco part number
800-35323-01) over the opening, and secure it with captive installation screws.
