Removing the infrared camera
Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the SIM card.
3. Remove the microSD card.
4. Remove the base cover.
5. Remove the Wireless card.
6. Remove the WWAN card.
7. Remove the display assembly.
8. Remove the display bezel.
9. Remove the display panel.
10. Remove the display hinges.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the infrared camera module and provide a visual representation of the removal
procedure.
Steps
1. Peel the tape that secures the infrared camera cable.
NOTE: An abrupt peeling may also remove the camera shutter from the display bezel and damage the camera shutter.
2. Lift the latch and disconnect the infrared camera cable from the connector on the camera module.
3. Carefully pry up the camera module starting from the prying point at the bottom edge of the camera module.
4. Carefully lift the camera module from the display back cover.
