4.8 Notice on Replacing Major Parts
MAGNETRON
NOTE) The magnetron emits a strong magnetic field. For this season, remove a
wrist watch before performing the replacement and use a non-magnetic
screwdriver to dismount the magnetron.
The estimated life of the magnetron is 2000 hours, (including time in stand-by), however actual
life depends on usage.
1. Turn off the power.
2. Dismount the transceiver module.
3. Dismount and replace the magnetron.
4. When a new magnetron is fitted, turn on the power and measure magnetron current. See
Chapter 3 for heater voltage rating, and potentiometer to be adjusted.
5. Allow at least 30 minutes under ST-BY for pre-heating.
6. Transmit on a long range and measure magnetron current. Readjust magnetron current if
necessary.
7. Allow at least 30 minutes under TX for frequency stabilization.
8. Carry out “tune initialization.”
9. Reset “TX Hours”and “On Hours” on the INSTALLATION SETUP menu.
MIC
The MIC can be replaced individually. However, the replacement should be made inside the
room where no radar signal is received. The Tune Initialization must be made after the
replacement.
SPU Board
Settings of the MAIN and INSTALLATION menus are stored onto EEPROM U100 on the SPU
Board.
Before replacing the SPU board, write down all menu settings and installation settings.
After the replacement of the SPU board, menu setting and installation setting must be carried out
referring to the record.
