2.6.5 IBM FlashCache Storage Accelerator
The FlashCache Storage Accelerator is intelligent, application-level caching software that
transforms IBM eXFlash Memory Channel Storage, IBM High IOPS Adapters, or IBM
eXFlash Memory Channel Storage into a transparent and dynamic flash cache for “hot” data.
It resides transparently and non-disruptively in the application data path, intelligently directing
data flow, using flash memory in the server as a local, high-performance shared resource for
data. It is tightly coupled with operating system I/O routines, and transparently redirects read
requests to flash in the server for significantly faster random read access.
