3.21 WORK ON THE LOADER ATTACHMENT
WARNING
● Work on the loader attachment must be carried out only
by personnel with special knowledge of the Shovel.
Improper working on the attachment can cause severe
accidents with personal injury.
● If you are not sure how to carry out the work on the
attachment contact your local Komatsu Service Station
for support.
OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS
● Wear safety clothing, goggles, respirator and other safety
devices, whenever working conditions make this necessary.
● Provide hoists of sufficient capacity to lift heavy units. Refer to
the separate ”Assembly Procedure Manual” filed in volume 2
binder for more information.
● Before working on the loader attachment lower it to the
ground, stop the engine and cycle all hydraulic control levers
to relieve all pressure before disconnecting hydraulic lines.

● Lifting gear, tools and other suspension systems must be in
good condition and of sufficient lifting capacity.
● Be sure hydraulic cylinders and attachment components are
properly supported from hoist and securely fastened before
removing supporting pins.
● Floors must be clean and dry. After draining operations be
sure all spillage is cleaned up.
