SAFETY MEASURES DURING OPERATION
BEFORE YOU START THE ENGINE
WORKPLACE SAFETY
• Before you start operation, check the working area for dan-
gerous working conditions.
• Inspect the surface of the soil in the working area and deter-
mine the optimum and safest procedure.
• Determine the required safety measures against dangers on
public roads in co-operation with the owners, users, and re-
sponsible authorities.
• On sites where there are underground water pipes, gas
pipes, or conduits for high voltage cables, contact the re-
sponsible supply company to determine the lines' positions.
Ensure that these facilities will not be damaged.
• When working with water or crossing sand banks, first check
the subsoil and depth and flow rate of water. Ensure that the
permitted water depth will not be exceeded.
IN THE DRIVER'S CAB
• Do not leave any tools or spare parts lying around in the
cab. These may actuate, damage, or block control levers,
pedals, or switches. Store these parts in the tool box.
• Keep the cab floor, the control elements, the tread steps,
and the handrails free of oil, grease, and excessive dirt.
• Immediately repair any damage. Tighten loose screw con-
nections.
• Check the safety belt, the belt buckle, and the fastening ele-
ments for damage and wear. Replace worn or damaged
parts.
