Faults Possible cause Action
The engine does not turn when
the start button is pressed
Operating error – Carry out start procedure. ( p. 124)
12 V battery discharged – Charge the 12-V battery. ( p. 218)
– Check the open-circuit current.
Fuse 1, 2 or 3 blown – Change the fuses of individual power
consumers. ( p. 226)
Main fuse burned out – Change the main fuse. ( p. 221)
No ground connection present – Check the ground connection.
Engine turns only if the clutch
lever is drawn
The vehicle is in gear – Shift the transmission to neutral posi-
tion.
The vehicle is in gear and the
side stand is folded out
– Shift the transmission to neutral posi-
tion.
Engine turns but does not start Operating error – Carry out start procedure. ( p. 124)
Fuse 3 blown – Change the fuses of individual power
consumers. ( p. 226)
Quick release coupling not
joined
– Join quick release coupling.
Malfunction in the electronic
fuel injection
– Read out the fault memory using the
KTM diagnostics tool.
Throttle opened while starting – When starting, DO NOT open the throt-
tle.
