Fuel
• Cetane number of 45 is minimum. Cetane number greater than 50 is preferred, especially for the following
temperatures or the following elevations.

• Diesel fuels specified to EN 590 or ASTM D975 are recommended.
• No.2-D is a distillate fuel of lower volatility for engines in industrial and heavy mobile service (SAE J313 JUN87).
• If the engine is to be operated within the European Union on diesel or non-road gas-oil, a fuel with sulphur content
lower than 10 mg/kg (20 mg/kg at point of final distribution), a cetane number greater than 45 and a fatty acid
methyl ester (FAME) content lower than 7% volume per volume (v/v) shall be used.
Engine oil
• Oil used in the engine should have an American Petroleum Institute (API) service classification and proper SAE
engine oil according to the ambient temperatures as shown in the preceding table.
• See the following table for the suitable API classification engine oil according to the engine type with internal
EGR, external EGR, or non-EGR, and the fuel.
