The functions of the probe expansion board are described as follows:
 Supporting nominal probes including 192/128-element probe, 4D probe, phased array probe,
and dual-plane probe
 Switching to 192-element mode inside the probe (only 129 channels are supported on the
probe board)
 Containing three 260-pin mini probe sockets
 Supporting the acquisition of three probe IDs and switching among the three probe sockets,
with the ID identification and probe switching circuits independent of each other
2.9 ECG Module
The ECG module is designed for monitoring of ECG signals and display of ECG waveforms,
which serve as reference of ultrasound images and keep synchronous with 2D images and color
flow images displayed in real time. After being amplified, filtered and sampled, the ECG signal is
sent to the DSC module through the USB port. In the meantime, R-wave detection is performed,
and the detected ECG triggering signal is actively sent to the system controller to start scan
transmission.
The system can be connected to an ECG sensor, which is compatible with ports of Mindray
monitors. The following figure shows the structure of the ECG module.
