If you are recording or playing back a tape, the words "Not
available" will flash and[ an error message will appear. To correct
this, stop the tape.
O You will see the menu for automatically memorizing
channels. Using the list below as a reference, Turn the
ADJUST dial to select the kind of antenna you connected.
• If you are using a cable box that sends signals to your VCR
on only one channel, and that cable box can be operated by
a remote control, choose "Cable box only," and skip to step
_, below.
• If you are using any other cable combination, including a
cable box with an A/B switch, choose "C_ble."
• If you are using an antenna that receive:_ only over-the-air
broadcasts, such as "rabbit ears" or a roof-mounted
antenna, choose "Indoor/outdoor."
O If you choose "Cable" or "Indoor/outdoor," you will see an on-
screen message and the display on the fro_t of your VCR
showing you that the VCR is memorizing the stations you can
receive. You can cancel the memorization at any time by
pressing CANCEL on the remote control.
After the VCR is finished programming all tlhe channels, the
screen will return the VCR's picture.
Automatic programming may include vacant channels if there
was a noise or stray sit,real on the channel. Ir this occurs, you can
manually delete the channels using the procedure in the section
"Adding and deleting channels."
If youchoose"Cableboxonly,"
You need to tell the V .R which manufacturer makes your cable
box, and on which channel the cable box ser.d_,; a signal. You will
see the screen to the left.
The cursor will be next to ":Brand code." Tarn the ADJUST
dial or the number buttons to select the manufacturer's code
number for your cable box. The codes are :.isted below:
