_Important:
Using video mute
When you turn video mute ON, any blank section of tape, or any
station with a weak signal, will be replaced by a blue screen. The
sound will also be turned off. If there is a time when you would
like to try to tune in a weak station, turn video mute OFF.
Beforeyoubegin,youshouldknowhow:
• to view the picture coming from your VCR; (see page 23)
• to use the menus (See page 29.)
Press the MENU button on the remote control. The '_CR
Main Menu" appears on your TV.
Move the cursor next to "First Time Set-Up." Turn the shuttle
ring right on the remote control.
The "First Time Set-Up" menu appears on your screen. Use
the ADJUST dial tc move the cursor next to "Customize
choices" and turn the shuttle ring right.
Use the ADJUST dial to select "Video mute." Then, turn the
shuttle ring to set video mute to ON or OFF.

Press the MENU button once to return to the "First Time Set-
Up" menu; press the MENU button a second time to return to
the ''VCR Main Menu;" pre,_,_ the MENU button a third time
to turn off the menus.
Addingand deletingchannels
If necessary, you can manually add or delete channels after you
have completed the automatic chann.41 progran_ming.
Beforeyoubegin,youshouldknowhow:
• to view the picture coming from your VC,R; (see page 23)
• to use the menu,;. (See page 29.)
Make sure the video mute is; ON. (See above.)
Press the MENU button on the remote control. The '%CR
Main Menu" appears on your TV

Turn the ADJUST dial on the remote control to move the
cursor next to "First Time Set-Up." Turn the shuttle ring
right on the remote control.
You will see the "First Time Set-Up" menu. Turn the
ADJUST dial to move the cursor next to "Add/delete
channels." Turn the shuttle ring right.
If you are recording or playing back a tape, then the words "Not
available" will flash and you will see an error message. To correct
this, stop the tape.
