Tomakethetimegaugeand theremainingtimeappear:
Press the DISPLAY button once. The time gauge and remaining
time will appear on the TV screen, and the remaining time will
appear on the fluorescent display. They will disappear after four
seconds when playing a tape. To turn off th_, display, press the
DISPLAY button twice.
The time gauge and remaining time work by detecting control
signals on recorded tapes. They will therefore not function with
tapes that have not yet been recorded. Also, you must have set
the "Tape" video function correctly.
Depending on the length of the tape being used, it may take a
moment for the display to appear.
The tape remaining display may not show the correct remaining
time if the tape function is incorrectly set (see "Using the Audio
and Video Functions" on page 26), if you are using speed search, if
you are using a special length cassette (such as T-10 length or
T-210 length), or if you are using a cassette with an adapter.
Displayingthe presenttime
The present time display on the fluorescent display panel[ or on
the TV screen shows the current time. Ifym-L have not set the
clock, or if there has been a power failure of more than 30
minutes, the display will show - : - -. The (urrent time will be
displayed when the VCR is off. To see the current time when the
VCR is on:
O Press the DISPLAY button on the rem,ote control twice. The
peak level meter will be replaced by the present time
To turn off the present time, press DISPLAY once.
SearchingTechniques
The VCR lets you search through a tape in a number of ways.
These include:
Quick searching,
Edit searching,
Speed searching,
Searching by time,
Searching for a blank portion of tape, and
Index search techniques.
Quicksearching
This feature lets you search through the tape you are playing in
30 second intervals. It is designed so that yo_ can quickly speed
search through any commercials you may have recorded.
