To turn on the Active A/V Network on your VCR:
O Press the MENU button on the remote control. The "VCR
Main Menu" appears on your TV.
O Use the ADJUST dial on the remote to move the cursor next
to "First Time Set-Up." Turn the shuttle ring right.
The "First Time _,et-Up menu appears o+tlyour screen. Use
the ADJUST dial to move the cursor next to "Customize
choices." Turn the shuttle ring right.
O Use the ADJUST dial to move the cursor next to "A/V
Network."
0 Turn the shuttle :ring right to set "A/V Network" to AC:TI_E.
0 Press the MENU button three times to tt_rn off the menus.

The Active A/V Network makes it easier and faster to use the
VCR's Quick Program and Play commands.
WhenyoupressQUICKPROGRAMNCRPlus+tobegirLprogramming:
• Active A!V Network will turn on your VCR and bring it to
the VCR Plus+ "Program to Record" Screen.
• Active A_V Network will[ turn on your !FV (if it is off), and
switch the TV to EXT-1.
WhenyoupressQUICKPROGRAMNCRPlus+to endprogramming:
• Active _V Network will[ turn offyour VCR (unless a tape is
currently playing or recording).
• Active AJ_ Network will return your TV to the channel it
was on before, or turn it off (if it was off originally).
Whenyou press PLAYon the remote:
• Active A,_ Network will turn your VCR on and begin
playing the tape.
• Active A_ Network will turn the TV on, set to EXT-1.
Whenyou turnyour TVoff:
• Your VCR will turn off', unless it is playing or recording.
Active A!V Network also affects your VCR when your TV's P.I.P.
function is used. Active A/V Network can set your VCR's clock if
your TV is equipped with the "StarSight" feature. See your TV
Owner's Guide for more information.
When using the Active A/V Network, you should always point
your remote control at your television, not your VCR.
