Vesselpositiononthechartdisplay
Yourcurrentpositionisrepresentedonscreenbyaboatsymbol.
Theboatsymbolisshownbelow:
Note:Theboatsymbolcanbecustomized,somayappear
differentlyonyourdisplay.
IfneitherheadingnorCourseOverGround(COG)dataisavailable,
thevesselisshownasasolidcircle.Ifpositionaldatahasbeen
selectedfordisplay,yourpositionwillbedisplayedinthedatabar
underVESPOS.
Chartorientation
Theorientationofachartreferstotherelationshipbetweenthe
chartandthedirectionthatyouaretravellingin.
Itisusedinconjunctionwithmotionmodetocontrolhowyour
vesselandchartrelatetooneanotherandhowtheyaredisplayed
onscreen.
Themodeyouchooseappliestoallchartinstances,andisrestored
atpowerup.
Thefollowingoptionsareavailable:
NorthUp(N-up)
InNorthUpmode,thechartorientationisxedwithtruenorth
upwards.Asyourheadingchangesthevesselsymbolmoves
accordingly.Thisisthedefaultmodeforthechartapplication.
HeadUp(H-up)
HeadUpmodedisplaysthechartwithyourvessel’scurrentheading
upwards.Astheheadingchangesthevesselsymbolremainsxed
andthechartpicturerotatesaccordingly.
Note:T opreventcontinuousbackwardsandforwardsrotations
asthevesselyawsfromside-to-side,thechartwillnotupdate
unlesstheheadingchangesbyatleast10degreesfromthelast
displayedorientation.
