11.1. Circuit recommendation of the JTAG Interface
If the JTAG interface is unused in the customer application the TRSTN input of the TPS-1 should be connected to digital GND via a 4.7kΩ resistor.
The circuit recommendation for the interface looks as follows.
TPS-1
TCK
TMS
TDI
VDD
TDO
TRSTN
open
All resistors 4.7k
Figure 11-1: Unused JTAG Interface
If the customer wants to use the JTAG interface for boundary scan test, the customer has to check whether the boundary scan tool, that he intends to
use, has specific requirements with respect to the TRSTN circuit in the target system. If the boundary scan tool has specific requirements, the circuit in
the target system must be made configurable. The subsequent figure shows the situation, that the boundary scan tool requires a pull-up at the TRSTN
input of TPS-1.
For using the JTAG interface with a boundary scan tool, you should implement the following.
TPS-1
TCK
TMS
TDI
VDD
TDO
TRSTN
open
All resistors 4.7k
1
2
3
Connect 1-2 for boundary scan
Connect 2-3 for normal operation
