Appendix B PowerFlex 7000 Drive Spare Part Storage Requirements and Recommendations
3. Increase voltage to 50% of the nominal voltage of the energized item,
feed the power supply for another 15 minutes.
4. Increase voltage to 75% of the nominal voltage of the energized item, feed
the power supply for another 15 minutes.
5. Increase voltage to 100% of the nominal voltage of the energized item,
feed the power supply for another 15 minutes.
1606 Power Supply
If an average storage temperature of 25 °C (77 °F) is maintained, energize the
power supply for approximately 10 minutes with nominal input voltage.
With adequate storage temperatures, this procedure should be performed at
least every five years. At higher temperatures, this procedure should be
performed every three years.
UPS Batteries
If the batteries are stored for a long period, recharge then every 6 months by
connecting the UPS to utility power. The internal batteries charge to 90%
capacity in less than 3 hours.
However, the UPS manufacturer recommends that the batteries charge for
48 hours after long-term storage. Check the battery recharge date on the
shipping carton label.
Control Equipment and Boards
Energize control equipment up once per year to achieve power supply
capacitor integrity.
Power up the ACB board once a year
Replace the lithium battery in the DPM every 3 years
ATTENTION: If the recharge date has passed and the batteries were never
recharged, do not use them.
