Playing Songs and Recording Your Performances
The V-Piano Grand can play back SMF music files, audio data, and
songs from a CD.
You can also play along with SMF music files and record the
combined performance.
If you want to connect a CD drive, refer to “Installing the CD
Drive” (p. 75).
If SMF music file is selected
If audio data is selected

Tempo
If SMF music file is selected, this indicates the tempo.
If audio data is selected, this indicates the playback speed as a
percentage.

Media on which the song is saved
INT: V-Piano Grand’s internal memory
USB: USB memory or CD drive
3.
Song number
If Function is off, you can use the [Value] dial to select a song.
4.
Song name (file name)
If audio data is selected, an icon indicating the file format is shown
above the song name (file name).
: WAV format
: MP3 format
5.
Measure indication
If SMF music file is selected, this indicates the currently playing
measure number.
If audio data is selected, this indicates the playback time (minutes’
seconds”).
If Function is off

[F1 (MEDIA)] button
Switches the media that contains the songs.
INT: The V-Piano Grand’s internal memory
USB: USB memory or CD drive connected to the USB Memory
connector

[F2 (RESET)] button
Moves the playback position of the selected song to the beginning
of the song.

[F3 (PLAY)] button
Plays the selected song. While the song is playing, this button
pauses the song.

[F4 (REC)] button
Records your performance (p. 53).
If Function is on

[F1 (TEMPO)] button
Pressing this button lets you use the [Value] dial to change the
playback tempo.
Tempo adjustment range for SMF music file: 10–500
Playback speed adjustment range for audio data: -25–+25 (%)

[F2 (MEAS/TIME)] button
Pressing this button lets you use the [Value] dial to change the
playback position.
12.
[F3 (PLAY)] button
Plays the selected song. While the song is playing, this button
pauses the song.
13.
[F4 (OPTION)] button
Displays a menu that allows you to make settings, such as those for
the metronome (p. 55).
