CYLINDER HEAD, CYLINDER AND PISTON 6-3
ENGINE TOP SIDE
CYLINDER HEAD COVER REMOVAL
• Remove the seat. (!5-2)
• Remove the radiator covers and fuel tank. (!5-2)
• Disconnect the ignition coil/plug cap and remove the spark
plug. (!2-7)
• Remove the cylinder head cover

1 and cylinder head cover
gasket.
CAMSHAFTS (AUTOMATIC DECOMP.) AND
CAM CHAIN TENSION ADJUSTER REMOVAL
• Remove the cylinder head cover. (!above)
• Remove the TDC plug
î›§
1 and crankshaft hole plug
î›§
2.
• Place a wrench over the crankshaft and turn it counterclock-
wise to align the TDC mark
î›§
A with the center of the grooves
î›§
B of the timing inspection hole.
NOTE:
The piston must be at TDC on the compression stroke.
