C. Assembly should be done on a
clean, level surface.
If
you need
to move the machine, be careful
not to severely bend any cables.
NOTE: All references to left,
right, front and rear
of
the ma-
chine are determined by standing
behind the handlebars and facing
the direction
of
forward travel.
STEP
1:
Unpacking
and
Checking
Contents
A.
After unpacking the shipping
carton, compare the contents with
the parts shown and listed on the
next page.
B.
If
any parts are missing or
damaged, contact your local ser-
vice dealer or call the Factory for
assistance.
IMPORTANT:
Motor
oil
must
be
added
to
the
engine before
it
is
started.
The
procedure
for
adding
oil
is
explained in Step 7
of
these assembly instructions.

Inspection
After
Delivery
Inspect your machine immediately
after it has been delivered. Make
sure that neither the carton nor the
contents have been damaged.
If
you find or suspect any damage,
contact the carrier (trucking com-
pany) right away. Inform them
of
the specific damage and that you
wish to file a claim.
To
protect
your rights, be sure to put this in
writing to the carrier within
15
days after your machine arrives.
The carrier will let you know how
to proceed with your claim.
