Emergency Start
Start after crash-stop
If the engine crash-stops, the following routine must be
performed before the engine can be started again.
1 Move control levers to neutral.
2 Acknowledge any alarms and turn the ignition off.
3 Wait at least 30 seconds until the system is
completely shut down and all lamps are out. If it’s
not possible to wait 30 seconds, the main switch
can be turned off for 5 seconds after the ignition is
turned off.
4 Turn the ignition on but do not start the engine.
5 Acknowledge any alarms. Start the engine.
Start/Crank override
IMPORTANT:
When start/crank override is performed the engine will
not be protected by its safety systems. This action can
damage the engine, drive and/or boat. If a crash-stop
has occurred earlier, without a 30 second shut-down,
operational limitations of the system (e.g. reduced
rpm) may remain after start.
For Aquamatic stern drives:
If the drive is trimmed to high or if the gear is stuck in
Forward or Reverse it is not possible to enable engine
start/crank. However, you can override this function in
case a situation occurs that requires the engine to start.
1 Press start button or turn key to crank position.
2 The system display show fault message that states
that start/crank is not possible.
3 Release start button or turn key to ignition.
4 Press start button or turn key to crank position, the
display will show “Crank override, push 5s to start”.
Keep start button depressed or key in crank
position for at least 5 seconds to activate Start/
Crank override.
