25. A replacement BMS from Zero Motorcycles
should come programmed and ready for use.

26. After installing the BMS, it may be necessary
to reprogram the keys to the motorcycle. See
Key Programming, page 10.8.
Battery Management Unit (BMU)

CAUTION: Always perform the High Voltage
Discharging procedure prior to servicing any
High Voltage component or connection. Proper
procedures must be followed! To protect
electrical components, perform the following
tasks in the order given. Do not deviate from the
repair procedure processes.
NOTICE: Before carrying out any work on the
electrical system, remove the key from the key
switch.
Removal
1. Remove service cover. See Service Cover
[22MY Onwards], page 20.31.
2. Carefully pull BMU to release from grommets
(x2).
3. Disconnect harness connectors (x2).
4. Remove BMU.
