RE 92050-01-X-B1/2019.08.23, Axial piston variable pump A4VSO, BoschRexrothAG
Group IIC contains the most dangerous materials. Products in a given explosion
group should also always be used in areas with lower risk.
Table 7: Categorization of gases, mists and vapors into explosion groups
Explosion group Examples of gases, mists and vapors Danger
IIA Acetone, ammonia, gasoline, benzene, carbon monoxide,
ethyl alcohol, methane, hydrogen sulfide, propane
moderate
IIB Ethylene, coal gas, acetaldehyde High
IIC Hydrogen, carbon disulfide, acetylene Very high
Refer to the technical literature for further material classifications as needed.
In potentially explosive areas at risk from explosive gases, mists or vapors (zones0,
1, 2 designated for Equipment GroupII, categories 1G, 2G and 3G), also note that
the maximum surface temperature of the axial piston unit must be below the ignition
temperature of the surrounding explosive gas, mist or steam.
The categorization of an Equipment Group II operating resources into temperature
classes T1 through T6 according to its maximum surface temperature indicates the
suitability of the operating resources for use in potentially explosive areas at risk
from explosive gases, mists or vapors.
Table 8: Temperature classes
Temperature class per
DINENISO80079-36
Maximum surface temperature Permissible ignition temperature of
the gas, mist or steam
T1 450°C > 450 °C
T2 300°C > 300 °C
T3 200°C > 200 °C
T4 135°C > 135 °C
T5 100°C > 100 °C
T6 85°C > 85 °C
The type of protection describes the type of measures taken to prevent the ignition
of a surrounding explosive atmosphere.
