Commissioning 49/72
RE 92050-01-X-B1/2019.08.23, Axial piston variable pump A4VSO, BoschRexrothAG
The axial piston unit should be filled with a filling unit (10 µmfilter grade). Do not
operate the axial piston unit while it is being filled by the filling unit.
Only use hydraulic fluid incompliance with the datasheet (Part II):
The machine/system manufacturer can send you precise information about the
hydraulic fluid. Use a hydraulic fluid that corresponds to the data sheet (Part II).
At no point of the axial piston unit may the temperature of the hydraulic fluid be
higher than the temperature specified in the data sheet (Part II).
1. Place adrip tray under theaxial piston unit tocollect any hydraulic fluid that
mayleak.
NOTICE! Contaminated hydraulic fluid!
The cleanliness levels ofcommercial hydraulic fluids are usually insufficient for our
components.
▶ Use asuitable filter system tofilter hydraulic fluids during filling tominimize solid
particle contamination and water inthe hydraulic system.
▶ Note that contaminated hydraulic fluid can constitute a risk of sparking due to
overheating.
2. Fill and air bleed theaxial piston unit via theappropriate ports; see chapter7.3
"Installation position" onpage32. Also fill thehydraulic lines ofthesystem.
NOTICE! Risk ofproperty damage due toinadequate lubrication!
Product can bedamaged ordestroyed!
▶ When using a shut-off valve in the suction and/or drain line, make sure that the
input of the axial piston unit can only be started when the shut-off valves are
open.
3. When using a shut-off valve in the suction and/or drain line, only operate the axial
piston unit when the shut-off valves are open.
4. Test thedirection ofrotation ofthedrive motor. To do this, run thedrive motor
briefly atthelowest rotational speed (inching). Make sure that thedirection
ofrotation oftheaxial piston unit agrees with thedetails ofthename plate,
see chapter5.3 "Product identification", Fig. 3:Name plate A4VSO ATEX on
page 23.
5. Operate theaxial piston pump atalow rotational speed (starter speed for
internal combustion engines and/orinching mode for electric motors) until
thehydraulic system iscompletely filled and air bled. To inspect, drain the
hydraulic fluid at the drain port and wait until it drains without bubbles.
8.1.4 Testing thehydraulic fluid supply
The axial piston unit should always have asufficient supply ofhydraulic fluid.
For this reason, thesupply ofhydraulic fluid must beensured atthestart
ofthecommissioning process.
