Installation 39/72
RE 92050-01-X-B1/2019.08.23, Axial piston variable pump A4VSO, BoschRexrothAG
The drive shaft oftheaxial piston unit isequipped with afemale thread. Use this
female thread topull thecoupling element onto thedrive shaft. The size
ofthefemale thread can beseen inthe installation drawing.
2. Clamp thecoupling hub onto thedrive shaft orensure permanent lubrication
ofthedrive shaft. This prevents theformation offrictional corrosion and
theassociated wear. Moreover, this prevents relative movement which could
cause heat or sparks to form.
3. Transport theaxial piston unit tothe installation location.
4. Remove dirt and foreign particles from theinstallation location.
5. Install thecoupling onthe output shaft ofthedrive motor inaccordance with
thespecifications provided bythecoupling manufacturer.
Do not fasten down theaxial piston unit until thecoupling has been correctly
installed.
6. Fasten theaxial piston unit attheinstallation location.
7. Align the drive shaft of the axial piston unit and the output shaft of the drive
motor so there is no angular deviation.
8. Make sure noexcessive axial and radial forces are acting onthe drive shaft.
9. For bell housing installation, check thecoupling axial play through thebell
window according tothe manufacturer's specifications.
10. Details onthe required tools and tightening torques for themounting bolts are
available from themachine/system manufacturer.
11. Use the shaft collar as a stop for the coupling. The coupling should not grind
on stationary parts. When using elastic couplings, maintain an air gap to the
case so that no sparking can occur through material contact. When using elastic
couplings, make certain that a sufficiently large air gap to the case is present,
even during operation.
12. When using elastic couplings, check that thedrive does not resonate after
completing theinstallation.
7.4.5 Installation on a gearbox
The following describes how toinstall theaxial piston unit ona gearbox.
After installing ona gearbox, theaxial piston unit iscovered and isdifficult toaccess:
▶ Therefore, before installing, make sure the spigot diameter centers the axial
piston unit and that no excessive axial or radial forces act on the drive shaft of
the axial piston unit (installation length).
▶ Protect thedrive shaft against frictional corrosion byproviding permanent
lubrication.
▶ Maintain a sufficiently large air gap between the coupling and the case so no
sparking or heat buildup can occur through material contact.
▶ Fasten theaxial piston unit attheinstallation location.
