8.1.1 Comply with the limits for supply/leakage temperature
▶ When commissioning, a test must be carried out in order to ensure that, at
maximum operating power, the leakage temperature of the axial piston unit does
not exceed the limit as specified in the data sheet (Part II).
▶ In operation, the case drain fluid temperature must be inspected regularly
according to the requirements and action must be taken if it exceeds the
specified limit. The recommended maintenance interval is one day.
▶ For Equipment Category II 2G Ex h IIC T4-T1 Gb X, leakage temperature is
continuously monitored by a temperature sensor selected by the operator and
integrated into the shut-off chain (see chapter 7.4.9 "Electrically connecting
theaxial piston unit" on page 45).
▶ If it is not possible to monitor the leakage temperature, a maximum inlet
temperature (data sheet (Part II)) can also be observed (does not apply
to operation with HF fluids). (This does not apply for ATEX category
II 2G Ex h IIC T4-T1 Gb X)
8.1.2 Functional test of shut-off chain
(Equipment Category II 2G Ex h IIC T4-T1 Gb X only)
▶ Make sure that the shut-off chain of the machine/system is compliant with the
specified ignition protection system type b1 according to DINENISO80079-37
and check its function in accordance with the switch-off temperatures and limit
values specified in the data sheet (part II).
8.1.3 Filling theaxial piston unit
DANGER
Risk of explosion and/or fire due to ignition of an explosive atmosphere or of
combustible dust on a hot surface!
Operating the axial piston unit without or with insufficient hydraulic fluid may lead
to a risk of ignition due to overheating caused by dry running on the shaft seal ring.
Serious injury caused by blast pressure and fire may result.
▶ Fill the case, and the suction and working lines with hydraulic fluid prior to
commissioning.
▶ For above-reservoir installation and in all installation positions with the drive
shaft up, make sure the pump is only operated with the bearing flushing at
port"U".
▶ Drain the case drain fluid at the highest port.
▶ Comply with the specified case leakage pressure and case leakage temperature.
▶ Observe the operating data; see the data sheet (Part II).
▶ Also take care to remove dust in a timely manner in order to reduce the risk of
ignition.
Professional filling and air bleeding isnecessary toprevent damage tothe
axialpiston unit and tomaintain proper function.
