38/72 Installation
BoschRexrothAG, axial piston variable pump A4VSO, RE 92050-01-X-B1/2019.08.23
7.4.3 General instructions
Follow these general instructions when installing theaxial piston unit:
• Note that certain installation positions will affect thecontrol system. Gravity,
dead weight and case pressure can cause minor characteristic shifts and changes
inresponse time.
• Torsional vibrations and speed variations may cause leaks inthe shaft seal and
increased rotary angular acceleration oftherotary group oftheaxial piston unit.
Diesel drives with a small number of cylinders and low flywheel mass are at
particular risk.
Do not use a belt drive the A4VSO ATEX due to the buildup of static electricity.
• A cardan shaft on the input or output drive of an axial piston unit may cause
vibrations and excessive rotary angular acceleration. Depending onthe frequency
and temperature, this may cause leaks inthe shaft seal and damage therotary
group.
• For combinations of multiple units and for single pumps, make sure that the
respective case pressure in each unit is not exceeded. In the event ofpressure
differences atthe drain ports ofthe units, the shared drain line must bechanged
so that the minimum permissible case pressure ofall connected units isnot
exceeded inany situation. If this is impossible, separate drain lines must be laid
ifnecessary (see also chapter8).
• Excessive case pressure or excessive pressure peaks can cause wear, leaks
and excessive temperatures in the shaft seal, creating a risk of sparks
(seealsochapter2.6 "Product-specific safety instructions" on page 11).
The type ofinstallation for theaxial piston unit depends onthe connecting
elements tothe drive side. The following descriptions explain theinstallation
oftheaxialpiston unit:
• With acoupling
• On agearbox
• With cardan shaft
7.4.4 Installation with acoupling
The following describes how toinstall theaxial piston unit with acoupling:
NOTICE! Danger from improper handling!
Product can bedamaged!
▶ Do not install thecoupling hub onthe drive shaft oftheaxial piston unit
bystriking it.
1. Install thespecified coupling half onthe drive shaft oftheaxial piston unit
according tothe instructions ofthecoupling manufacturer.
