Height
When installing three or four engines, the center
outboard(s) should be mounted no more than one
mounting hole location lower or higher to prevent
the tie bars from binding at all tilt or turn angles.
CAUTION
The correct shifting of a standard or counter rotation gearcase is determined by the engine
model number stored in the EMM of the engine.
•Do NOT swap a standard rotation gearcase onto an engine with a counter rotation model
number! See Models Covered on p. 11.
•Do NOT swap a counter rotation gearcase onto an engine with a standard rotation model
number! See Models Covered on p. 11.
Swapping gearcases can result in an unexpected loss of boat control and extended operation
can damage the internal parts of the gearcase.
