MICRO PURGE SETUP
Micro purge is intended for use with fast drying inks and in high temperature or dirty
environments. It is designed to prevent ink from drying in the nozzles and causing missing prints
when the production line re-starts after a temporary pause.
Note When a micro purge happens, very small quantities of ink will be ejected out of
the ink cartridge nozzles. Ink may mark items that are close to the print head.
There are 2 types of micro purge available: Cyclic and Intelligent.
Enable Cyclic Mode
If Cyclic mode is enabled, a micro purge will happen at regular intervals, when the controller
detects that production line movement has paused and the print group is still active.
Micro purging will stop, when the controller detects that the production line is moving again.
Micro purging will also stop, when the print group is in an idle or alert state.
The recommended default values for the "Time between micro purge (sec)" and "Intensity of
micro purge (dots)" settings have been calculated by Domino for each ink type. For dierent or
harsher environments, these values can be changed.
To enable cyclic micro purge:
1.
Select Home > Ink settings > Micro purge.
2.
Select a Print head tab, to choose which print head to setup.
3.
Select the Purge mode drop down setting and select Cyclic.
4.
The settings listed in the table below can now be defined:
Setting Name Description
Time between micro purge
(sec)
Set the time, for the
first micro purge after the production line
stops. Also, set the time interval between each micro purge in
seconds.
