pressure all round the clamp ring. Do not over tighten and damage
the diaphragm.
(11) Reconnect the pipe to the base of the accumulator cover.
Note: Before the ink system is refitted into the printer and refilled with
ink, make sure that the accumulator diaphragm is fully inflated.
(12) Remove the air valve core and apply a low air pressure (not more than
6psi).
(13) Remove the air pressure.
(14) Refit the valve core.
Removing the Ink System
WARNING: After disconnection, ink will still be present in the
manifold system.
Removing the complete ink system is normally only necessary for
refurbishing the accumulator, removal of the manifold block, or for an
overall service.
The printer must be switched off and the cover removed. Use tissue to
catch escaping ink.
(1) Remove the QCD from the ink container.
(2) Depressurise the ink system.
(3) Disconnect the following pipes from the manifold block:
(a) the ink feed pipe (to the ink container).
(b) the feed pipe(s) to the print head(s).
(c) the pipe to the bleed valve.
(4) Note the connections then disconnect the wiring to the pressure
switch, vacuum switch and pump.
(5) Disconnect the earth (ground) connection on the mounting plate.
(6) Lift out the accumulator and manifold block assembly.
Refitting the assembly is in the reverse order. When complete, reconnect
the ink container, prime the system and bleed the print heads.
