Filter and NRV Leaks
External ink leaks may occur at an end cap. Check that the end caps and
blanking plugs are tight. If the leak continues replace the outer O-Ring.
Faults in the ink system can also be caused by ink leaking back through a
faulty NRV. This can be caused by a worn, damaged or dirty diaphragm.
Filters can be refurbished and O-Rings replaced as detailed in the following
instructions.
Refurbishing a Spring NRV
The printer must be switched off and the power removed. The cabinet
cover must also be removed. Place tissue in the cabinet base to catch
escaping ink.
(1) Depressurise the ink system.
(2) Release the end cap with a suitable spanner.
(3) Remove the rubber diaphragm and spring.
(4) Flush out the NRV recess in the manifold with wash.
