The liquid crystal display is used for indicating
measured MV, PEEP, Peak and Mean pressure, Rate,
and VTexp., as well as for Advisory and Warning mes-
sages. It is located immediately above the two knobs
for rate and tidal volume VT.
Alarms appear on the display as plain text. The red
alarm status LED will start blinking simultaneously
with an audible alarm.
Pressing the »
M

settings and measured values.
This also activates screen backlighting.
Pressing the key for 3 seconds will test the display,
status lights and audible alarm.
The audible alarm can be silenced for approximately

Overview
Controls
The most important dial knobs, namely those for
ventilator rate (Rate) and tidal volume (VT) are
located in the center of the front panel. They are
larger in diameter than the other dial knobs. Ranges
for each patient group are color-matched on both
knobs for easier presetting: infants (green), children
(blue), adults (brown).
The smaller dial knobs for ventilation time ratio
(I:E), maximum airway pressure (Pmax), and
end expiratory pressure (PEEP), are grouped
together in one area. The PEEP knob features a
safety stop for settings above 10 cmH2O.
Switch for CMV / A/C or SIMV / CPAP ventilation
modes. The »
M
Info« and »g Reset« keys on the pa-
nel are used to change from CMV to Assist Control.
Turning the rate knob to 0 changes from SIMV to
CPAP.
The ON/OFF switch »O/I« is located beside the
switch for the ventilation modes.
Both switches are protected by protruding U-brackets
against accidental switching.
The oxygen blender switch is used to select either
100 % O2 by vol. or approx. 60 % O2 by vol. during
ventilation.
Analog mechanical pressure gauge for continuous
display of inspiratory and expiratory airway pressure
– independent from electrical power supply.
